Canon: Original Character Canon Point: Post Promotion Age: 26 Appearance: Visual Ref History: ➤ World Information Televivi Enterprises is located on Gyyae, a planet that is part of the Illiem Empire, however, it serves as an intergalactic hub of trade. It was founded by Arvis Reinr, Hildar Reinr's great-grandfather, three hundred years ago. Arvis wanted to build a better technology company, something to aid in the uplifting of the people rather than just tools of war. At the time, the Representatives were unsure about issuing the permit for the structure, however, Illiem's representative at the time, Vissus E, offered to house Televivi Enterprises and fund their building so the Representatives need not worry about how this will affect the current economic crisis. The involvement of Vissus E remains in question even now, but Arvis has proven himself and in turn, as a gesture of appreciation he donated his new technology to those in need and aided in the creation of jobs across the universe. Thus was a major force in pulling the Representatives out of their current crisis. His goodwill is continued through the CARES program, and Hildar has continued to donate the latest devices to aid those who desperately need a helping hand. Gyyae continues to thrive as a diverse planet and a center of innovation, and some scholars at the Gyyae University credit Arvis' philanthropy for putting the planet on the map as a home from all. ➤ Current Events Timeline Samantha Boone and Xy'lo steal a leather-bound first edition book of Advae and the Knight from Illiem aristocrat Hyyn A after he announces his intentions to sell it back to the people of Polari for 4.5 Million GCD. The book is said to be the last remaining written story by author B'ita Vivor. This makes intergalactic news and makes the two thieves infamous for such a bold theft. Aernis Rhymar and Renee Barton arrest Baron Mistep after a lengthy investigation and infiltration of his criminal organization. He was taken without incident and is currently being held at IPI HQ. Renee Barton is promoted to Chief of Police while Aernis shifts to the position of Training Supervisor at the Academy. The Council of Uplifting Primitives, or CUPs, disbanded after a unanimous decision to end the program by the Representatives. Representative Friilla commented, "We've done more harm than good with this program and it's about time we righted grievous wrongs. Our hope is that we can slowly integrate those we've already displaced into our culture of technology and enlightenment, but we cannot continue to disrupt their people. This barbaric practice shouldn't have started to begin with." Representative Friila was elected based on her platform to disband CUPs due to recent scientific studies about how fragile the minds of newly enlightened primitives can be. She declined to comment on how her predecessor funded the program. As his last act as Chief of Police, Renolds has signed a joint effort with Televivi Enterprises to upgrade technology for the Intergalactic Police Initiative. He claims it is to better ensure that his successor, Renee, will have a head start and to better serve the universe at large with the latest equipment.
Elcin is the youngest of 113, a fact that wildly shaped his childhood and early adult life. With absent parents, he found himself more often than not in the caretaker role, making sure his siblings ate and went to school (though school was the last thing on most of their minds). Despite this, Elcin excelled in school, receiving top grades and with several accolades for his work in medical research That's not to say he doesn't have skeletons in a closet. During university, there were two incidents that shaped his life. The first was with a young Mythawa woman by the name of Vil Arry. She was a slight girl, friendly with a bright smile. They met during one of the medical labs he had to take for his degree. She was forward in her intentions, and he found himself in her bed often. Unfortunately for him, this was the start of his addiction, and when they parted on good terms? He continued to seek out partners. The second was with Professor Thyme. Thyme was human, shrewd, and bitter at the world. When Elcin entered his class, he nearly refused to teach him due to a preconceived notion about his race. Early encounters with his race resulted in several deaths on a human research station floating around the planet Lqee. When investigated, a majority of the population was encased in thick webbing and seemed to have been melted and drained of blood. It took twenty years to resolve the incident between humanity and the Rachni, and the treaty between them was still recent. Professor Thyme believed the Rachni should have been more harshly punished, and thus made Elcin's life difficult through the semester. Elcin nearly failed the course, but with some intervention from the Dean he barely passed and decided to never take another course with Professor Thyme. 3:00AM Gyyae University Campus. Campus security has located the body of Professor Thyme hanging from a street light. His body was removed and taken immediately to Generosity Hospital where he was pronounced immediately. The coroner reports that he died from excessive blood loss, however, the local police could not find blood where the body was found. Police declined to provide any more detail about the case, but said they were proceeding with an investigation and will provide more when they are able. Shortly after graduating university, Elcin managed to land a job as a research assistant with Teliviv Enterprises. He worked alongside Dr. Vivian Wakefield, a shrewd human woman, on a variety of research assignments. She was hard on him, pushing him to think outside the box while keeping true to their morals. Elcin regards her highly, and credits her with his success in their shared field often, so when she passed? The lab was never the same. The project they were working on together came to a halt and was shelved. A year later they finally decided to fill the position, and Elcin was promoted to Head of Research and Development due to his hard work and high praise from Dr. Wakefield herself. CEO Hildar Reinr states that he sees promise in the young man, and looks forward to his continued work within the company Personality: He's ambitious, pushing for his staff to think outside the box, to take risks within reason (or at least within the constraints of their methods). He is encouraging and patient, and a surprisingly good at training his staff, even when they're a little intimidated by him. Elcin isn't put off by those who are arachnophobic, understanding that some fears can't be helped. Despite his cool nature at work, he's a very kind and giving individual. Elcin's main focus is medical research, and non-lethal weaponry to aid the police in capturing their prey -- perpetrators. That doesn't mean there isn't a darker side to him. Elcin has a bit of a problem with sex addiction, finding himself in the legal brothels of Gyyae (The Illiem people are sex-positive and up until they reached space travel, it was often used as a bartering favor). He is a rough lover, usually taking smaller partners that he can control and keep in place. His personal life is rather secretive, so luckily no one in his life knows of his tendency to pay for sex. The late Dr. Wakefield’s last research project was her penance to her younger sibling, who passed due to a microbial infection that ate away at her nervous system. She titled it “Project Penance”, a testament to how she felt about eradicating the unRavel virus. Elcin, in the wake of the doctor’s death, vowed to do everything to finish the research in her name. His focus on this project has gotten in the way of more prominent research, his longing to help his dead mentor, and his ambitions to cure the disease-causing him to miss a few deadlines. As thankful as he is about it only being a few days here and there, Reinr had to pull him aside to redirect Elcin’s focus, giving him a hard line to follow. Despite this, he’s a genuinely kind and caring individual. He looks out for those around him, volunteering to work at the local free clinic in his spare time (what little he has). Elcin is still a doctor and does not enjoy watching those around him suffer. He takes his time doing what he can to better the world around him. However, most of his time after work is spent feeding his addiction. Elcin’s first foray into sex was messy, quick, and not as satisfying as it could have been. Vil Arry, however, continued to work with him, allowing him to explore. This quickly became an obsession, finding various partners across campus who did not mind that he was Rachni. By the time he starts his work at Televiv, he’s looking for partners near every night. His home, a large condo space with high ceilings, is on the edge of what is considered the “red light” district, so he finds himself paying for sex quite frequently. He does what he can to keep his work and personal life separate, but when there’s a lack of sex? Elcin is often irritable, frustrated, and quick to anger. His patience is short, and he doesn’t hold back when it comes to mistakes being made. These days are far and few, but it’s clear something is wrong when they do. Powers and Abilities: Being a spider, Elcin retains some abilities typical of that species. His fangs produce a neurotoxic venom that can sap the strength of a victim and render them paralyzed for upwards of twenty minutes. While this venom can be passed via a bite, Elcin can milk his fangs and store this venom in vials--meaning it could potentially be used to taint items such as food or be used to coat weapons if the opportunity presented itself. Elcin can also be expected to be able to climb like spiders do, though without reinforcement or support from webbing he is likely too heavy to walk on a ceiling. While he is able to spin his own webs, it should be noted that Elcin hasn't spun his own web in his home due to being uncomfortable in the setting. His ease and comfort within a place may play a part in his ability (or want) to spin a web of any notable size. If he does end up spinning a web, it most likely will be in a spiral but can be any complex pattern. (See real-life example: here and here. ) Due to a spider's penchant for lying in wait for prey and keeping to damp, cool, or shaded places, Elcin can be known for skills in hiding and sneaking around. This may not necessarily be an intentional action on his part, and more of an instinctual movement. For his size, he can move rather stealthily and with little sound. He also has decent vision in the dark, and likely won't find any punishments that rely on deprivation of light intimidating. Inventory: ➟Universal Translator |
